چکیده

The vanadium(V) complexes have been investigated as potential anticancer agents which makes it essential to evaluate their toxicity for safe use in the clinic. large-scale synthesis and acute oral mice of oxidovanadium(V) Schiff base catecholate complex, abbreviated [VO(HSHED)dtb] containing a redox-active ligand with tridentate (HSHED = N-(salicylideneaminato)-N’-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,2-ethylenediamine) dtb 3,5-di-(t-butyl)catechol ligands were carried out. body weight, food consumption, water intake well biomarkers liver kidney compared precursors, sodium orthovanadate, free ligand. 10-fold scale-up complex resulting preparation material improved yield leading 2–3 g (79%) suitable investigating vanadium complex. No evidence was observed animals when acutely exposed single dose 300 mg/kg 14 days. toxicological results obtained biochemical hematological analyses did not show significant changes parameters reference values. low is attributed redox chemistry taking place under biological conditions combined hydrolytic stability These document design that but still are antioxidant agents.

Study the Interaction of Ni Complex of Tetradentate Schiff Base Ligand with HEN Egg White Lysozyme

AbstractInteraction of Ni complex(Salen= N, N´-ethylene bis(salicylideneimine)) with hen egg-white lysozyme (HEWL) was studied by absorption spectroscopy, competitive binding study and thermal denaturation study. The protein binding affinity of Ni complex was found to be (3.0×103M−1). The binding plot obtained from the absorption titration data gives a binding constant of 2.4 (± 0.3)×103 M...

Acute Toxicity and Gastroprotection Studies of a New Schiff Base Derived Copper (II) Complex against Ethanol-Induced Acute Gastric Lesions in Rats

BACKGROUND Copper is an essential element in various metabolisms. The investigation was carried out to evaluate acute gastroprotective effects of the Copper (II) complex against ethanol-induced superficial hemorrhagic mucosal lesions in rats. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Rats were divided into 7 groups. Groups 1 and 2 were orally administered with Tween 20 (10% v/v). Group 3 was orally admi...

DNA interaction and antimicrobial studies of novel copper (II) complex having ternary Schiff base

A novel ternary Schiff base ligand (HL) of ONO type and its copper (II) complex weresynthesised using 2-aminophenol and o-acetoacetotoluidide. They have been characterised by theusual analytical and spectral methods. The interaction of the complex with calf-thymus (CT)DNA has been investigated by UV-Vis, viscosity measurement, cyclic voltammetry anddifferential pulse voltammetry studies. The re...

Cooperative self-assembly of a macrocyclic Schiff base complex.

A metal template approach affords in high yield a tetra-Zn(salphen) macrocycle (3) which shows strong and cooperative self-assembly mediated by the formation of Zn(salphen) dimer units held together via μ(2)-phenoxo interactions. A cooperative binding mode for the tetranuclear Zn(4) macrocycle 3 is supported by comparison of UV-vis and fluorescence titration data recorded for 3 when compared wi...
